Untitled No.57

Taken from my 10th series of abstracts, this was the last in this particular set, which explored combinations of black, white and blue. (In fact this was originally conceived as a completely monochrome set, but I had doubts as to whether I could sustain the idea for an entire series).
Here the main sections in white contrast well with the two-tone blue background, which creates a “glowing” effect – something which I’ve often explored since.
There is also a certain graceful movement about this piece: the main sections seem to “dance” around each other.
Along with Untitled No.56, it was also utilised for the Inner Landscapes CD cover.
