Untitled No.68

From my 12th series of abstracts.
Here my intention was to combine elements from previous series and to develop them further.
The background motifs were based upon those from series 11 (see Untitled No.60), but reduced in order to create space as well as depth (appearing to be at a greater distance). These motifs were blended into two-tone backgrounds (based upon those from series 10, such as Untitled No.56 and Untitled No.57, but with a broader palette) and ultimately added to the foreground as a variation on a theme, and for inner continuity.
I also began to move away from metallic highlighting in this set – here the white highlights are strong enough to render them unnecessary.
This piece also has a great sense of movement.
